Plaza de la Flores is the centre of Estepona, which is adorned with tropical fauna and orange trees. Plenty of artistic townhouses are located around the square with cobblestone roads. There are not many ancient historic sites. Some of them are the ancient 15th century tower of La Torre del Roj and the historic church of Neustra Sanora de los Remedios built in the 18th century, which is famous regarding the strange iron chunks found embedded in the mortar of the sandstone walls. Sadly, only some of the remains of the immense castle walls are left.
